Tool/software:
Hello,
I have just downloaded the MSP Gang Programmer GUI SW .zip file. I unzipped it and clicked on MSP-GANG-Setup.msi and setup.exe files. On both instances, a pop-up appeared with the following message:
This setup requires the .NET Framework version 3.5. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again. The .NET Framework can be obtained from the web. Would you like to do this now?
I went ahead and clicked yes. It brought me here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/
I proceeded to download the SW. Once having done so, I went back and clicked on the two files above hoping to initiate the download of the MSP GANG programming GUI. Instead, the pop-up appeared once again. The pop-up only two options are 'yes' and 'no'.
Can someone please help.
Much appreciated.
CAZADU
Hi CAZADU,
Did you reboot your PC after installing the .NET files?
What Windows version are you running?
Can you provide a screen shot of the message box that appears?
Hi,
I have Windows 11 Pro. I did reboot my computer ( a few times now). The pop-up always comes up. It is as if I had never installed the .NET files.
I attempted to upload the screenshot. Unfortunately, TI's GUI is a bit primitive. It doesn't even have a 'browse' function to look for the file on my computer to upload.
When I type the location manually, I get the following message in the box:
The file or URL is not allowed to be inserted
Hi CAZADU,
Can you check that the .Net 3.5 is installed. Here is a link (not TI) that I found that shows you how to view your .NET versions.

Regarding having trouble uploading an image file, you should have some commands below the message box: Edit, Insert, Format, Table, Tools. Do you see them? If you select Insert > Image/video file, a windows search dialog box should pop up and you should be able to navigate to your image file and click on it.
Hi,
yes, it is installed. I just checked.
My image is on my desktop. I entered: C:\Desktop\pop_up_GANG_PROGRAMMER.jpg (formerly .png)
It states the following message: "The file or URL is not allowed to be inserted"
If it had a browse function, it would be so much better.
Regarding this:
"... a windows search dialog box should pop up and you should be able to navigate to your image file and click on it."
You have to manually type the file. I am referring to a "browse" GUI where you simply use your mouse to select the file.
For some reason, it does not accept the file location address as I have entered it and as I have highlighted above.
Can you check that the .Net 3.5 is installed
Are they supposed to be downloaded/located in the same folder? Is this a requirement?
I reviewed the "MSP Gang Programmer User's Guide", SLAU358Q
It states the following on page 10:
The MSP-GANG Programmer Software runs on Windows® 32 bit or 64 bit: Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.
I have Windows 11 Pro. Is this an issue?
I previously did have it installed on my other computer which had Windows 10. I do not recall running into this issue. I used it and it worked fine. It is just now that I appear to be running into this issue. Please help.
Hi Cazadu,
Let me contact Elprotronic, regarding this and see what their plans are for Windows 11.
Thank you. I appreciate Dennis's and your effort with helping solve this issue. It's what we use to program our production units. Greatly appreciated ;)
Hi Cazadu,
I was informed by Elprotronic of this, could you try it out and let me know how it goes?
Some installations will have .NET versions older than 4 disabled by default. Go to Windows Features window to enable this, found in the control panel, or by typing "Windows Features" into the search location in the Windows key button (usually bottom left).
Enable the tab: ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)"
Awesome! This fixed the issue. Might want to update and add this information to the user guide document for others to reference. Cheers!
Sounds good, will update the documentation with this. Thanks for testing it out!
