MSP430FR5969-SP: Using the MSP-FET, but want to run UART at 230K

Tool/software:

I see that the maximum baud rate for the MSP-FET is at 115200 baud. For my design, I want to run the UART at a faster rate - 230,400.

I am wondering what my options are.

Is there another tool that would support this for testing? I have the MSP FET connected to a custom board that I designed.

Matty -

You can use a stand alone USB to UART adapter. I just did a quick search on Amazon and found a 3Mbaud adapter.

Just connect Rx/tx/GND and should be good to go!

Thanks Jason!

I can get one, but I am currently using the MSP-FET to download the code to my board and for debug. How would I use this adapter. Would I have to download the code using BSL over UART?

Matty -

The debugger can still be connected to the JTAG pins for programming and debugging. You would need to connect the USB- UART tool to RX/TX/GND coming from the MCU.
