MSP430FR6989: Doubts regarding the possibility of synchronizing MSP430FR6989 with external signal

It is possible to utilize an external crystal, or an external clock source for these devices. For both of these you'll need to adjust some register settings to use the external signals. For the external clock signal specifically, ensure you are using the clock system in bypass mode.

Please also check section 5.13.3 "Clock Specifications" in the device datasheet to check what specifications your external clock or crystal signal must obey.

Just to be clear, your wording makes me think you may mean something else entirely, please let me know if you mean something different by "synchronization with another external signal".

LF is "low frequency" or about 32 kHz for a clock crystal.
