MSP-EXP430FR6989: Boards won't run project

What do you mean by that they will "debug"? That they run under the debugger but don't run without it? Have you tried attaching a not-running program to the debugger?

That does not make sense to me. If they don't run "the project", what do they do?

This usually happens when you enable an interrupt without providing a routine for it to interrupt to.

If you are running under the debugger, pause it and see where you are ending up.

so when i run my program its suppose to do something. On the boards in question it does nothing

If it can run, then the CPU will definitely run to a certain position.

Can you be confirm where the CPU will run to?

If the device can be debugged or can run.

CPU must run at somewhere.

Such as, What's the detailed phenomenon after debugging started?

As Helic Chi says, put a bunch of breakpoints along the way to see where it is hanging up. I would suspect oscillator startup.

Is the implication that the program I am trying to run is the issue?

No, we really can't tell, it could be a fault with the crystal on the boards like a long startup. But you haven't given us anything to go by.

The program I use on other boards that work, and it does what it's supposed to do. In my program I change a line to either read or write. And then I debug, run, and whether its read or write I see something in the Com that I open from the terminal. It's not continuous program it reads or writes and its done. On the boards that don't work it debugs, runs, and that's it. Blank. 

If it runs under the debugger, please humor us and put breakpoints in to find out where it stops. And we also can't do much without  your code. Probably just the startup is all we need.
