MSP430F6775A: DCO

Part Number: MSP430F6775A

Tool/software:

Hi,

I would like to ask about program I am working on. During the debugging process, a DCOFFG flag was set. I have noticed that this flag is set by default when  POR occurs and when manipulating the SEL bits, which is also described in the errata. However, when I set a breakpoint at the end of my program, I see that this specific bit is set again, regardless of the frequency. I have selected the frequency range according to the formulaf fDCO(n, 0),MAX ≤ fDCO ≤ fDCO(n, 31),MIN , but the issue persists. The range is currently set to DCORSEL4 for 8MHz, and the computed value was 243 for FLL_N with RFFCLK as a reference. I have also noticed that the flag could be set when DCO values are at their lowest or highest. Is this the case despite the frequency range or should I also set up PMM for this model somehow? Additionally, if I choose the external crystal and it is missing, should it automatically switch FLLREF to RFFCLK and also ACLK, SMCLK, and MCLK to REFCLK? I do not need to manually check for the fault and then change the settings to REFCLOCK right?
