MSP430FR6043: Configuring MSP430FR6043 using EVM430-FR6047 dev kit

Part Number: MSP430FR6043
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EVM430-FR6047

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are trying to design a waterflow meter using MSP430FR6043 MCU. We tried to run USS example project FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example but the results are undesired. We also bought a EVM430-FR6047 devkit. We want to configure our MSP430FR6043 on board MCU using the USS software, how to do that using the devkit?

  • Hi Suchitran, thanks for the question. A good starting point since you already have the EVM430-FR6047 would be to review the Water Flow Meter user guide. This document details the setup required for water flow metering. This should get you started in the right direction, but let me know if the results are still not as expected.

  • After testing the EVM430-FR6047 evaluation board with the transducer, the results were generally satisfactory. However, upon connecting the transducer to our custom board, which has MSP430FR6043, the results have been inconsistent. The transducers are fully immersed in water, and there is no flow. Attached are the relevant screenshots.

    EDIT:
I also noticed one thing, in ADC capture and Frequency Sweep tab the UPS and DNS are not overlapping, can that might be an issue?

  • Hi Suchitran, can you give me some details on your custom board? My first inclination is that there may be some difference between the EVM and your board that is causing this since you are seeing reasonable results on the EVM.
