MSP430FR2475: MSP-BSL Bootloader (BSL) Programmer for MSP430™︎ and SimpleLink™︎ MSP432™︎ Microcontrollers

Part Number: MSP430FR2475

Tool/software:

Hello TI team,

We are designing a product based on MSP430FR2475 MCU.

For the BSL programming we will be using the MSP430- BSL programmer.

www.ti.com/.../slau573c.pdf

I need to add the compatible connector so that the MSP-BSL rocket can be directly be inserted into the header.

1. Could you share the part number for the below shown header?

2. Also is there any standard cable assembly for this you have for flashing the MCUs?

  • Hello Garima,

I need to ask for commons from my colleague and reply to you later.

  • Hello Garima,

I am sorry that we don't have the original design file of this tool because my colleague said that it is produced by third party. But I think it is just a general 2x5 connecter, you can try to look for some 2x5 connector on web and check whether they meet your requirement. And I think choosing any one 2x5 connector, and use combined with Dupont wire is also a good method.

    Best Regards,

    Janz Bai

  • Hello janz, Wuld be good if you can share part number, we are planning to insert this directly in our mainboard as we have no space constraints

  • Hello Garima,

I hope I can help you but I don't have the PCB design file of it. I can try to discuss with my colleague to let him help to try to look for the design file. Please wait.

    Best Regards,

    Janz Bai

  • Hello Garima,

I found the website of the third party, you can try to contact with them to get the PCB design file or BOM of the MSP430-BSL.

  • Hi Janz,

I have a query on BSL COnnection, we are adding a separate header for 10 pin for BSL programming,

Can you confirm this one point, for UART BSL programming we need to connect TEST pin to MCU TEST/SBWTCK (pin number 3 of MCU)?

We have a confusion if need to connect TEST pin to MCU TCK pin (Pin 4 of MCU) or MCU TEST/SBWTCK (pin number 3 of MCU).

  • Hello Garima,

You can refer to this figure:

And about more detailed information about MSP430 BSL, I recommend you to read this used guide, I think it can resolve most of your questions.
