MSP430FR6043: what is Booster Pack in EVM430-FR6043?

Part Number: MSP430FR6043
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EVM430-FR6043

Tool/software:

Hello!

I'm designing a custom FR5043 board based on the EVM430-FR6043

I'm just wondering What is the Booster Pack section of the EVM430-FR6043 schematic

Can it be removed if it's not necessary?

I hope you have a great holiday.

  • Hi,

    TI's Booster Pack is:

A BoosterPack is essentially a standardized add-on module:
Standardized Connector: It uses a 20-pin or 40-pin header that
matches the LaunchPad's pins, allowing for easy plug-and-play functionality.
Functionality Expansion: Each BoosterPack provides specific capabilities
or functionalities which can be added to the LaunchPad without soldering or
    complex wiring.

You can keep some function that you need by using a smaller header pin.

Or if these functions are not needed from your design, you can remove it.

And actually, booster pack is mainly for development, not suitable for a final product.

    Regards,

    Helic
