MSP430FR2355: F/W loading fail

Part Number: MSP430FR2355
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

Tool/software:

Hi,

1. F/W programing problem

Firmware loading by uniflash is done to MCU(MSP430FR2355) on target device via MSP-EXT430FR2355 LaunchPad.

There is a failure in loading firmware on the MCU MSP430FR2355 from a specific Lot No.

 - MSP43023FR2355

   Lot no                    result

======================

16TG4, 15TG4           Fail

18TG4                        Intermittent success

================================

How can I solve this problem?

What could be the possible cause?

2. I exported memory area(0x00000000 ~ 0x00000fff) to bin file using Uniflash, and I tried to reprogram the target device.

    But, I couldn't, what's wrong with my target?

    Could ypou let me know how to recover it.

Best regards

Yonghyun Kyung

  • Hi Yonghyun,

    Regarding your question, I need to confirm some information first.

    1. Firmware loading by Uniflash works fine via launchpad, but not on a specific Lot No, what does this "specific Lot No" refer to? Does it refer to your own hardware board? If so, you can check the hardware by comparing it with launchpad.

    2. Regarding the firmware you burn, in addition to burning your own firmware, have you burned the demo we provide and whether it is normal?
        If the demo we provide is burned normally, we recommend that you convert your firmware into txt format, and then carefully compare the data read by the Uniflash to see if they are consistent, It is possible that your program may has some protection mechanism that causes the programming to fail.

    Best Regards

    Peter

  • Hi,

    I found out some unstable power in my target board while loading firmware and resolved this issue.

    Best Regards
