MSP430FR6047: Water Meter issue

Part Number: MSP430FR6047

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have calibrated one EVM6047 from 0 to 3000 L/hr,  and loaded this calibration file onto another EVM6047. However, the output results on the second EVM board show a negative flow rate of -7.7 KL/hr, whereas the original flow rate is 380 L/hr. How can I resolve this issue?

Thanks

  • Hi Aravind,

Is your hardware from one metering setup to the other the exact same? Is it possible that there is some hardware difference between the two?

The expectation is that two identical metering setups will use the same calibration just fine. Otherwise customers would have to calibrate every single unit which would be a massive amount of work. I recommend checking over your hardware.

  • Hi Dylan,

I'm using a same hardware setup with two audiowell DN15 flow tube and EVM6047.

When empty pipe to flow and No flow to flow. The flow rate jumps to higher or negative. How can resolve this issue?.

    Thanks

  • Are you using flow VFR calibration as shown in the USS Design center user's guide? You mention a pretty broad flow rate range, you'll likely need different calibration values across this range. It is possible that your calibration for one value just doesnt work for these other flow rates.

You may also just want to take a look at the ADC captures for these various flow rates to determine if you are still receiving a good signal across the range. Feel free to post screenshots of the capture at each flow rate.
