MSP430FR2355: MSP430FR2355IDBT

Part Number: MSP430FR2355

Tool/software:

The 32.768KHZ crystal used in the MSP430FR2355IDBT MCU does not oscillate. The MCU is a 38-pin IC, and CMJ206T32.768KDZBT is used on pins 12-13 and 6PF is connected.

  • RESET is connected to 47K PULL UP and 1000pF GND

  • Hi,

Generally, these two crystals should be sized according to the their specifications, here I can provide you with a calculation formula.

Where CL is the load capacitance of the crystal, which you can find on the datasheet of the crystal you choose. Cs is the stray capacitance of the PCB, which is related to the layout of your board, the general empirical value is 3-5pF. Cg and Cd are the two external capacitors on both terminals, generally, we choose Cg and Cd to be the same.

You can first calculate and choose the best crystal value according to the formula, and then test to see if it can be solved.

    Best Regards,
    Peter

  • [I suppose someone needs to ask the obvious:] Did you enable the oscillator circuit in the MSP430 (PSEL=10 for P2.6/P2.7)?
