EVM430-FR6047: Schematic / EZFET-light understanding

I am digging through the schematic of the EVM430-FR6047 and I am hoping to get a little understanding of what this circuit is. It is on sheet 4 of the schematic, and it is paired with the MSP430F5528 EZFET-LITE. From my understanding of what is happening all U101 is only doing is driving an voltage EZFET_VCCTARGET, correct? For U102 I not really what it is doing, can I get some input on that?

Hi Toby,

As for U102, this is the EnergyTrace circuit for MSP430 & MSPM0. It is a part of debugger and is used for monitoring the current and power consumption of the MCU.

Thanks, that helps! Am I correct about U101, and that we don't need it if we are not using the EZFET_VCCTARGET voltage rail?
