EVM430-FR6047: Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center error message

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047

Tool/software:

Dear Experts

I recently purchased a new EVM430-FR6047. When I click the "Request Update" button to update the parameters using the Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center (Water Mode), the following error message is displayed.

However, when I reconnect the Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center (Water Mode) to the previously purchased evaluation board, the parameter update works fine. Additionally, although the parameter update cannot be performed, flow measurement is still possible.

Is there any setting required, or is a firmware update needed for the evaluation board or the Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center?

  • Dear Experts

Regarding the error message, it succeeds when I initialize with Reset Values and then perform Request Update, but it fails when I change the Meter Constant and perform Request Update.

It seems there might be some restrictions on how to input the Meter Constant.

  • Hi, thanks for reaching out! Have you looked through the USS Water Flow Meter user guide here? There are several additional guides on the EVM landing page as well that can guide you through the parameters, etc.. I would check here to see if there is a particular way that the constant needs to be added/updated.

  • Brian -san, Thank you for reply,Yes we have checked user guide .The description related to the configuration is on page 7 of the user guide, but I don't think it explains this condition. Could the configuration timing be related to this failure?

  • Are you referring to the transmission frequency?

  • I apologize for changing the question. Let me update the situation. The user recently purchased five FR6047EVM units. Out of these, four units can set the meter constant to "18730856.00L/h" in the GUI, but "28730856.00L/h" cannot be set. The FR6047EVM units purchased a few years ago can set both meter constants. All of them have the marking "Revision A" on the board. Based on the difference in symptoms, I believe there might be some differences between the old and new boards. Were there any changes in design or program?

Additionally, for the remaining EVM, LED3 is lit. Since there has been no change in the user's usage, we suspect a malfunction. Please advise on what can be investigated on our side.

    Best Regards

  • There have not been any changes to the design that I know of. Are the jumper settings identical for the new boards to that of the old working one?
