Would you mean that you want check what the PC register is when it comes to some application code?

I don't think there is a method to get it without JTAG.

Or maybe you can set some code to maintain the PC value to the flash address (record it into flash), then read back to check its value.

Okey, so there is no other way. I mean I cannot just put the JTAG into a port and read the PC register value without starting debugging process which will halt cpu or restart device.  I would like to restart device without the JTAG connected and than put the JTAG into that port whenever I want during main program execution without reset so I can trace location of current instruction or where actually my device is in real-time. I cannot use the debugging process cuz some events cannot be traced like that. So it is not possible?

In IDE tools, there support the free run for users, I see it might work without reset device.

Other than that, no idea.

I don't see why. When you tell it to run, it sets breakpoints, if any, then lets the CPU run. If it hits a breakpoint, or you ask the debugger to stop the CPU, it stops. And the debugger then has access to information like the program counter.

But not when the program is working and it will stop somewhere unexpectedly.

Perhaps you should describe the particular problem you are attempting to solve.

In case of infinite loop. I can get information about program execution. Particularly about the part of code currently being executed.
