MSP430G2955: Cannot change anymore code between 0x2100 ... 21FF

Part Number: MSP430G2955

Tool/software:

Hello,

is there any reason why I can't use the Flash area 0x2100..0x21FF anymore?
Used to be I always started code at 0x2100 . Now I had to change the linker setup to start Flash at 0x2200 ,which works.

I always use the same CCS and the same debugger to Flash the device. I noticed that behavior with now two devices.
In other projects with the same MC and the same tools , I still can use that area.

Is there anything I do not know which prevents the mentioned Flash area for reprogramming?

Thank you

  • Hi Robert,

I apologize for the late response.  This does seem odd.  Can you provide a copy of your linker script .cmd file? Also, can you look at the Lot trace code on the devices and provide a list of those that fail.

Which version of CCS are you using and what Flash programmer do you use?

  • Hi Dennis,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

    Correction:

I found the problem by my own. It was caused by a wrong setting in the flasher setup file for the MSP430G2955.

I thought I was using the setup file I always use, but that was a fallacy.

Thank you again for trying to help.

    Regards

    Robert
