Tool/software:
Hello everyone,
I would like to use the MSP430-FR5043 in a flow meter application with 2,1 MHz transducers. Now I wonder, if this chip is the right choice for the use with these transducers and have some questions.
My first question is:
Does the transducer frequency have any influence on the measurement accuracy?
In the data sheet of the MSP430-FR5043, it is said, that it is possible to use transducers with frequencies up to 2,5 MHz. But with a samplerate of 8 MHz this seems very high, because we have only about 3 samplepoints per period for this frequency. So is the possible measurement accuracy and robustness, especially for the calculation of delta t, much better for smaller frequencies (e. g. 1 MHz) than for higher frequencies (e. g. 2 MHz)? Or does the transducer frequency not affect the correlation or tof algorithm very much?
I would really appreciate if somenone has any reliable information (e. g. technical paper) or experiences about such a possible correlation of measurement accuracy and transducer frequency.
A second, connected question is:
Is one of the available MSP430 flow meter microcontroller in general better or worse suited for higher frequencies (e. g. 2,1 MHz)? So is there probably a better choice than the MSP430-FR5043 and why?
Thank you already for all answers!
Best regards,
