MSP430FR6043: Maximum pipe size

Part Number: MSP430FR6043

Tool/software:

Dear Engineers,

Could you please let me know the maximum pipe size that can be reliably measured using a microcontroller-based system?

I have successfully implemented a solution for small-diameter pipes, but I am looking to understand the largest pipe size where flow or volume measurement can still be accurately and reliably performed—such as in agricultural applications.

Thank you for your guidance.

Best regards,
Behnam

  • Hi! There is no specific way of mentioning this as a maximum pipe size since it would depend on the type of medium, transducers, drive, signal strength, noise floor...etc. Also, for higher pipe sizes you can use multi-transducer system. If you are specifically asking for water and with a single pair of transducers working at std frequency of 1MHz, then I would say 50mm (max 2inch) but mostly we have seen customers use it for std 3/4 or 1inch pipes
