MSP430F5437A: device marking

Part Number: MSP430F5437A

Tool/software:

To whom it may concern.  We are having issues with this part but cannot find out how to decipher the Lot trace code.     We currently have parts where the outside of the bag states they are date code 2333, but I cannot find any data sheet that tells me how to convert for example lot code "38ALTYTG4" to a date code.     We need to isolate a failure but without this information it is hard to make any sense of the marking.   Can you please point me to a data sheet that shows how to decipher your Lot trace code?    Thank you in advance for your support.

  • Hi Patrick,

The top markings will give the lot code. Is the 38ALTYTG4 what you have on a current device? I can use this information once you confirm.

    Regards,
    Luke

  • Yes, this is the correct marking.  Doesn't your team have a cheat sheet on how to decipher the lot code without having to reach out to you for every new lot.   This should be public information.   Thank you.

Since it appears that this inquiry must be made on a case-by-case basis here are 4 additional lot numbers that we need assistance with:

    35A5ZETG4

    38ALV4TG4

    38ALT4TG4

    38ALTVTG4

Right now, we are experiencing upwards of 40% fallout in test.

  • Hi Patrick,

    • The first digit is for the year the part was manufactured, the part did come out in 2010, so if they're really old they could be 2013 otherwise the part would be manufactured in 2023.
    • The second digit is for month, so you have May on the 35A5ZETG4, and August for the others.
    • The following characters is our lot information and not related to date.
