TIDM-TMR-WATERMTR: Magnetic Position Measurement

Part Number: TIDM-TMR-WATERMTR
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5032, DRV5055

Tool/software:

Dear,

I am searching for magnetic position sensor with fix pole pitch (1 mm, 1.6 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm , ...) for linear and rotatory position measurement.

Do you have TMR, GMR or Hall sensor with fix magnetic pole pitch (dual bridge) for magnetic poisition measurement?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Mahdi,

I'm moving this thread to the hall effect team so they can help you (this is the microcontroller forum). Have you seen our hall effect overview page at https://www.ti.com/sensors/magnetic-sensors/hall-effect-latches-switches/overview.html? It should give you a good starting point to look for the device you need.

    Best,

    Sam

  • Hi Mahdi,

We do not have any TMRs or GMRs in our sensing portfolio; however, we do offer a wide variety of Hall-effect sensors. Devices like the DRV5032 offer dual unipolar outputs where one output will respond to positive magnetic fields and the other output will respond to negative magnetic fields. Additionally, the DRV5055 has a linear output that you may find useful as well.

The following app note discusses incremental rotary encoding and lists some devices that may be relevant for this application: Incremental Rotary Encoders

Additionally, we also have a tool that can be used for magnetic simulations called TIMSS which can be used to help with the design process as well.

    Best,

    ~Alicia
