ESD Test: SCL and SDA caused VCC voltage fluctuations exceeding the MCU's operating voltage range of <4.1V. See image below.

How should I resolve this?

Hi Wayne,

How is the ESD test being performed? Are you subjecting the I2C signals to ESD and measuring the resulting VDD on the MSP430?

Like you do any ESD problem. Appropriate protection between the MSP430 and the ESD source.

Hi David,

There are some things you look into, such as PCB layout and use of a protection device. A TVS device is a typical solution. Refer to application note MSP430 System-Level ESD Considerations SLAA530B
