Hi Team,

We are currently developing a smart metering solution (1-phase / 3-phase) and are evaluating ICs that offer:

  • Full metering software (IEC 62053 compliant)

  • DLMS support

  • AES encryption

  • Detection of 3 types of tampering

  • Secure boot and key management support

Please suggest the most suitable part number(s) for our requirements and provide details on the above features.

    Hi Anitha,

    There is no key storage on the MSP430 parts but on MSPM0 we do have key storage. The device linked in the post does have AES but no key storage.

    I recommend looking at the MSPM0G3519 for the additional key storage secure boot. We have a multitude of TI designs for different energy metrology configurations. See the orderable ADS131M08MET-EVM.

    MSPM0 Energy Metrology Reference Designs:

    • TIDA-010940 – Single Phase shunt e-meter with LCD, Class 0.5s
    • TIDA-010244 – Three-phase shunt e-meter, Class 0.2s
    • TIDA-010243 – Three-phase current transformer e-meter, Class 0.1
    • TIDA-010944 – Single-phase and split-phase shunt e-meter, class 0.2s
