In TRM, this level error is kind of big, is there any configuration to make the error lower?

    All of the details of baud rate calculation are in the guide. The USCI has very limited modulation patterns so no opportunity to do much different.

    I have found that this combination, 9600bps from a 32768 crystal works pretty well. No trouble when communicating with a PC serial port (real, not USB) and with other MSP430s. The other MSP430s must use the identical modulation pattern.
