Tool/software:
Hello. I am working on a project that will be using MSP430F5659 microcontroller. I am planning to use USB interface for field firmware updates, therefore, eventually I will need to apply for VID shared license from TI. TI’s SLAA457B mentions VID-sharing program and provides a link for it, but the link is no longer valid. So, I wonder if the program still exists. I found an application with an email address vidpid@list.ti.com here: Application for Sublicense to Texas Instruments Inc , but I am not sure if this application is still valid. I also tried to send an email to this address requesting additional information about the program a few days ago but I received no response so far. I also found a relatively fresh post on the forum about the program: MSP430F5529: VID/PID Licensing and WHQL Driver Support for MSP430F5529 USB Commercial Deployment - MSP low-power microcontroller forum - MSP low-power microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums. The post says the program is still ongoing but provides no information about how to apply for it. So, I have 3 questions:
1. Does the VID-sharing program still exist?
2. How to apply for it? Is vidpid@list.ti still monitored for incoming applications by TI?
3. Can I use the default PID 0x200 used in TI's examples for my project or do I need to apply for a custom PID as well?
