Part Number: MSPM0G5187
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG
I need a clock input to another device on my system, and instead of creating yet another clock, I was hoping I could use the MSPM0G5187 to generate a clock. The frequency, jitter, and such is not that critical, anything over 1MHz will work. It's just to one other chip, so drive isn't critical.
I'm already using the CLK_OUT pin for another clock, so I can't use that.
Looking at the chip, I think I can use a countdown timer that automatically reloads to trigger an event. It looks like, with a 32MHz clock to the timer, I can trigger the event at 16MHz. Maybe 32MHz.
Then that event can toggle a GPIO pin, so I can get an 8MHz (maybe 16MHz?) clock out of the GPIO pin.
Does all this look correct?
Thanks,
