MSP430F67791A: Programming MSP430F67991A with C-Gang

Part Number: MSP430F67791A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C-GANG, , MSP-FET, MSP430G2553, MSP-TS430PEU128

Hi

We’re trying to get the C-Gang with splitter PE063X06 working with the MSP430F67791A, unfortunately whatever we try we are always getting a checksum error at the end of the auto program process.

Previously we were using an MSP-Gang, but it has died. As much as is possible, we’ve replicated the configuration of software in GangPro-ARM (screenshots below), but it always results in a failure.

The in-circuit MSP430F67791A processor will program with an MSP-FET and FETPro430 Lite (further screenshots below).

We’ve tested the C-Gang and splitter PE063X06 with another design which uses a MSP430G2553 and verified the C-Gang is functional, though that did use SBW instead of JTAG.

We’ve also tested with the Texas Instruments MSP-TS430PEU128 dev board and MSP430F67791A and again it fails the checksum test with the C-Gang but not with the MSP-FET, so the issue isn’t with our hardware design.

We’re at a loss as to what the fault is other than there may be an issue with MSP430F67791A memory profile or setup in GangPro-ARM.

Regards

P. W.
