Problem in interfacing SD card with MSP430

Hi

I am using MSP430 EXP5529 experimenter board.

I am familiar with USB developers package .

I have exercised the CDC code samples and they work well.

Now i am trying the M2 , SD card sample.

I have downloaded the 'M2 code sample'  to the controller .

The PC does not recognise the SDcard device .

Any idea ?

Thanks

Jenitta

  • Hi,

In addition to the MSC code , should the micro controller code contain code for CDC as well ?

    Thanks

  • Hi

    I tried the CHM1 code .

Now the PC is able to recognise the COM port as well as mass storage device.

I have the SD card inserted . So i expected  one new "Removable disk drive" to appear .

    But 2 drives appeared.

I assume one to be the SD card and the other to be the built in flash .

    Am I right ?

I get a message instructing me to format the drives before i can use it .

I can format the SD card .

But i cant make out which drive is SD card and which one is MSP430 in built flash .

How do i do that ?

what will happen if i format the MSP430 flash ?

    Thanks

    Jenitta
