MSP430F2274-EP: DCO pin on MSP430F2274-EP

Part Number: MSP430F2274-EP

Hi team...

If using DCO on the MSP430F2274-EP – can the pin assigned Rosc be used as GPIO or must it be used as the Rosc feature and tied only to a specific external resistor?

Looking at the technical documentation:

MSP430F2274-EP data sheet, product information and support | TI.com
of the user guide and datasheet –It doesn't explicitly state if using the DCO mode, the Rosc can be omitted and the Rosc pin can be repurposed as GPIO.

However it seemed to imply that the Rosc is a “legacy” concept that some flavors of the MSP430 support, but it is not clear if using DCO then the Rosc pin must be tied to a resistor and can’t be GPIO.
