MSP430F5419A: Documentation on Radiated Immunity and IEC 61000‑4‑3 Testing

Part Number: MSP430F5419A

Hello,

I’m looking for general information regarding radiated immunity for TI MCUs,
in particular whether TI maintains any documentation related to radiated
immunity testing or system-level protection against radiated RF fields.

Specifically, I am interested in:
- Whether TI has any documentation addressing radiated immunity
  (for example, IEC 61000-4-3)
- Application reports, reference designs, or guidelines related to testing
or protecting systems against radiated RF fields
- Any guidance that is applicable specifically to MSP430 devices

So far, I have found general EMC design and system-level guidance, but I have
not been able to locate any device-level radiated immunity specifications or
documents focused directly on IEC 61000-4-3 for MSP430 MCUs.

If such documentation exists, I would appreciate being pointed in the right
direction.
If not, confirmation of the scope of available guidance would also be helpful.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Michael
  • Hi Michael, aside from the documents you referenced we so not have anything else released at this time. We have a more detailed EMC board optimization article in the works now, but we typically do the EMC testing on a case by case basis since there are so many parts/packages. For the MSP430, I dent believe we have done any EMC testing documentation aside from what may be mentioned in the respective datasheet.

  • Radiated immunity is going to be dominated by things outside of the MSP430. Like those antennas/wires connecting it to other things.
