MSPM0L1304: About MSPM0L1304 Nomain

Part Number: MSPM0L1304

HI TI Teams,

I have two questions  and I would appreciate your help with them.

First: The MSPM0L1304 has a NONMAIN area. I would like to know if, after erasing this area and removing power, executing Mailbox_Factory_Reset will fail to restore the factory settings. Is it true that only by executing Mailbox_Factory_Reset immediately after erasing—without powering off—can the IC be restored to its factory settings?

Second: When writing to the NONMAIN area via SWD communication, is it necessary to avoid an excessively high frequency? What is the recommended frequency?

Many thanks,
Monica Pan

  • Hello Monica,

About your question 1: If you want to do factory reset, you can directly using Mailbox_Factory_Reset, because this command will erase NONAIN and write default data into NONMAIN. If you just erase NONMAIN and not write data into it, and then power down, the next time you power up M0, when M0 check the NONMAIN for booting configuration, it will find the NONMAIN is blank, then your device will be locked forever, can't be recovered again.

About your question 2: About the speed of SWD transmission, we have the limitation max. When you test, you can try 500kHz~2MHz

    BR,
