MSP430FR6047: MSP430FR6047 with external temperture

Part Number: MSP430FR6047

Does the MSP430FR6047 USS algorithm use temperature in any way?

Is there any benefit to measuring temperature with a separate sensor?  How can the temperture be passed to the algorithm?

Thanks

Mary

  • Hi Mary,

Does the MSP430FR6047 USS algorithm use temperature in any way?

It can use temperature to do the calibration for the flow rate measurement, please refer to the Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center User Guide 02.30.00.03 "Calibration"->"Flow + Temperature VFR Calibration" section for the details.

Is there any benefit to measuring temperature with a separate sensor?

We have provided a method to use TOF to estimate the temperature, but it should be better if you directly use a sensor to obtain a more accurate temperature so that can improve the flow rate calibration accuracy.

How can the temperture be passed to the algorithm?

If you use our demo code "MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo" which can be downloaded here: MSP-ULTRASONIC-DESIGN-CENTER. You can call the "USS_runAlgorithms" in the "ussSwLibAlgorithm.c" file, and pass the temperature from the senor by using the function below.

    Best Regards,
    Peter
