MSP430-GCC-OPENSOURCE: Code Composer Studio assembler comments

Since the only error message show is from gmake, the actual error is unknown. To me anyway.

WAG:

Could you be using a unicode font and your semi-colon is not really a semicolon?

Or is the parser expecting CR-LF and your editor handles a naked CR with an implied LF?

As a test you could start all your lines with '*' and see if the errors go away.

You can use a hex editor and make sure that your characters all have the same codes.

Since I see "CRLF UTF-8" at the bottom of the screen capture, that seems very unlikely.

The error message from the assembler would help. For example, if I throw in a "*" as suggested I get:

system.S: Assembler messages:
system.S:2: Error: junk at end of line, first unrecognized character is `*'
make: *** [makefile:19: system.o] Error 1
make: Target 'eforth.hex' not remade because of errors.

Which kinda supports my thesis that it is a cr/crlf issue, it is not recognizing the end of the line.

The GNU assembler is happy with CRLF, CR, or LF as a line break.
