MSPM0L1117: BCR Configuration settings clarification

Part Number: MSPM0L1117

Hi team,

I am using MSPM0L1117 as host controller for an application requireing secure boot and firmware update. I need some clarifications about some BCR configurations:

  • if bootloaderMode is BCR_CFG_BOOTLOADER_MODE_DIS then  bslPinInvokeEnable is ignored. I saw from GUI that as long as bootloaderMode is BCR_CFG_BOOTLOADER_MODE_DIS the bslPinInvokeEnable do not change in the BCRConfig. Could you confirm? Also what will happen in case of a glitch attack the bootloaderMode is bypassed? Shall I also manually change bslPinInvokeEnable to BCR_CFG_BSL_PIN_INVOKE_DIS or this configuration will be useless?
  •  Could you add some clarifications about secureBootMode ? Is this seeting relevant since we are using CSC(customer secure code)?
  • If  debugAcessis BCR_CFG_DEBUG_ACCESS_DIS and swdpMode is BCR_CFG_SWDP_DIS we were wondering if there is any effect of setting the passwords to a value different from default. Our concern is still a glitch attack which could bypass the debugAcessand swdpMode.
  • Hello Jiahui,

    1. If you disable bootloader mode, it is not possible to enter BSL through any invocation mechanism. So the related configuration about BSL will be meaningless and can be ignored.

2.what is your meaning of "glitch attack" and "bootloader mode is bypass"? After you program, all the BCR configuration will be stored into Flash, and when MCU boot up, MCU will check them.

3.If you use CSC, you need disable BSL and can't use BSL.

    4. If you disable SW-DP, the physical debug port (SW-DP) is completely disabled, and all of the SWD-accessible functions (application debug, mass erase, factory reset, and TI failure analysis) are not accessible through SWD, regardless of their individual configuration.
