Updating a MAVRK MCU Module

Hi There!

I was following along with the 'Other -> Bootstrap loader for upgrading...' instructions to update my old MCU board and used the JTAG programming option with the MSP-FET430UIF.  I got the message about updating firmware, I waited, the red and green Mode and Power lights started to toggle back and forth...  From there, the MSP-FET430UIF device turned into what my PC see now as an 'MSP430 JTAG' device and it 'cannot find the drivers to install this device'.  It seems as though something erased the UIF firmware, re-programmed it, and now there are no drivers.  No drivers = no MSP430 Fun!

Thinking I did something wrong along the way, i pulled out my second MSP-FET430UIF.  PC see's it, all is good!  Re-start the process above and the same thing happens.  Now I have two MSP-430FETUIF that enumerate as MSP430JTAG and none of the drivers I have seem to work.  So...what might the issue be?  How can I restore my MSP-FET430UIF's back to their original (working) state?

    Hi James,

    Sorry you are running into this.  You are correct, it's a driver issue.  We have a request into the 430 team to get the drivers so we can add them into our install package, but unfortunately in the installer you used, it isn't there.

    So, we need to install CCS version 5.1 (or IAR EW430 will work as well if you have it) so that you can get access to the drivers.

    Once CCS is installed, in your device manager, update the driver for the FET Tool.

    If it doesn't find the driver, let us know and I'll point you to the file locations.
