MSP-GANG

I received this programmer yesterday and tested it.

In comparison with MSP-Gang430 it really has several improovments (see the features).

But it has one disadvantage.

Then I used SD-card I could select only one image.

Is it possible to add support for several images in one SD card?

Our range of products with MSP430 MCU is very wide, and 16 images in the internal memory don't enough for us.

  • Hi  ,

This is my first post in this forum i hope this is the right place to ask question.I just wanted to know if  we use MSP-GANG programmer to program eight MSPs with 8 different  .hex files for each MSP?

I have gone through the MSP_GANG Programmer data sheet, it is given that we can program eight MSPs at a time. But my requirement is to program each MSP with diferent code..is it possible to achieve this with GANG-programmer or any other product available.Thanks..........

  • Hi, Anand RL.

As I know the programming of 8 MSP takes place in a chain. So, theoretically it's impossible to program eight MSPs with 8 different  .hex files.

Also we have two MSP-GANG progrgammers and I didn't find any option in software to do it.

Unfortunately I don't know about another product on the market with necessary functionality.

With MSP-GANG hardware, using SBW, it is possible to program eight MSPs with 8 different  .hex files, but this is not supported by firmware and PC interface.

Just note that my SBW+ multi-programer (8 different devices from the same family, 48 KB/s MSP430x2xx writing, 185 KB/s MSP430x5xx writing) recovering original RAM contest after flashing for all target devices (it can be 8 different contests), but guess that this feature is not related to problem presented here.
