Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2553
I've been experimenting withe the ACTPB board for the Launchpad, and I've not been able to make it work very reliably with either a rev. 1.4 or a rev. 1.5 Launchpad board, although the booster pack is more or less functional with both boards -- and is pretty cool when it does work.
Most of my trouble seems to be related to the capacitive touch functions, which I can't make work consistently (or in some cases, at all). I'm wondering if this is because my fingers are just too big for the touch pad area. I have a hard time triggering the up/down/left/right buttons, for example, and can't seem to make the scroll functions work around the full perimeter of the touch pad ring -- especially on the right-hand side of that ring.
Additionally, I've tried creating two new directories on the ACTPB's microSD card named D1 and D2. When the booster is in the USB mass storage mode, my PC shows these two directories as being on the SD card and containing the correct files (I've verified that the files are correct too) -- but when I try to select a file from one of these directories with the ACTPB in file search mode, I'm told that D2 is empty.
I'd like to share experiences with the ACT Booster Pack with anyone else that is working with it. Have you had any problems? Have you been able to fix them, if so, by modifying the code for this device? I'm about to undertake to "fix" the software for the board, but would like to hear from others before I take that step.
