Hi Folkz,

I have used MSP430F4132 in my new design . When i am trying to connect to the micro controller using MSPFET430UIF with 4 wire interface , i am unable to connect it . But at the same time if i use the SPY-BI wire interface (2 wire interface),it works correctly . how ever , as per the data sheet 4 wire also should work.

In the schematics for 4 wire interface i have connected the JTAG pin are as in the TI designs , RESET pin with 47K pullup and 2.2nF capacitor and TEST pin is pulled High.

What can be the issue with the 4 wire interface ? Is there anybody who already faced this . Please let me know if i need to take any caution in interfacing FET through 4 Wire to the processor .

If you are using IAR: In IAR the default setting is for 2-wire (SBW). Are you reconfiguring this setting to 4-wire when needed? Go to Project -> Options -> FET Debugger and the JTAG protocol radio buttons should be there to configure.

have you tried connecting TEST to the JTAG connector instead of simply pulling it high? Per MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide (http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slau278) this is a required connection for Spy-Bi-Wire capable devices in 4-wire mode.

Thanks a lot for your reply ...

We have tried connecting the TEST pin to JTAG , But i am unable to get the JTAG connection to the board using the 4 wire interface. What else can be the issue ?
