We're qualifying a larger memory microcontroller for our product (MSP430F148, we currently use MSP430F147), and I've got a few questions:
other than the memory size, the devices are exactly the same - same specs, same IO bugger, same temp sensor location, same current, etc. none of the modules were moved around on the die either. if anything was moved, there would be a good chance that the specs would change too.
you shouldn't have any issues changing from a 147 to a 148 or vice versa.
Thanks Adrian.
Are the parts truly identical in terms of memory on die as well? For example, are the 147 and 148 just a 149 with some memory disabled? If they are truly the same but with memory disabled, that would increase our confidence that there would be no problems when switching versions.
