BIasing LCD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FG4618, MSP430F4351

Sir, is it compulsary to have the resistor divider at R01, R13, R23, R33,

can i keep these pins unconnected?

means without connecting these resistors, can i drive the LCD

i got this doubt because in  MSP430FG4618/F2013 Experimenter Board, these resistors are not included. does this means i need to attach these resistors externally though H5?

Waiting for reply

thanks and regards

  • Please see pg 26-6 & 26-7 of the 4xx user's guide:

The resistors are needed depending on the type of LCD you are driving. These resistors are also internally present on the MSP430FG4618 device with the LCD_A module and that is why the resistors are probably not attached externally.

  • yes u r right

MSP430FG4618 has it internally,  but i am using MSP430F4351 and LCD  SBLCDA2

i read the data sheet, they have said something about switched Vcc output, really m not geting what to do.

should i privide Vcc as shown, or there wil be Vcc at R33 directly. what is the case fro MSP430F4351.??

    waiting for rreply

    thanks and regards
