eZ430-RF2500 programming other chips

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F4152

New to the MSP series - Is it possible to use the programming board for the eZ430-RF2500 to program other chips besides the one that it comes with?  I want to program the MSP430F4152, so I'm wondering if I need to drop $100 on the MSP-FET430UIF.  Thanks!

the eZ430 emulators only work with some MSP430 devices with Spy Bi-wire (the two wire programming interface).  Since the F4152 doesn't have SBW, you can't use the eZ430.  the UIF is definitely the recommended way to go, but if you want to save a couple bucks you could try out the MSP-FET430PIF which is parallel port based and only costs $20.

    Hi,

    I think F41x2 supports SPW .

    see SLAS648A  page 5.

  • Yes, it does - I found out later, info is also in SLAU138L which has a table with devices that have SBW support.
