Hi,
Has MSP430 team a plan to MSP430F55x USB converter (software supports)? For example, CAN-to-USB, IIC-to-USB, RS232-to-USB, SPI-to-USB, ...
Or say, is F55x suitable for these applications?
Thanks.

Hi Ken,
why shouldn't the new MSP430F552x series not fit as a protocol converter? It has the UBS2.0 peripheral and a llot of other communication interfaces, so it sjould be easy to imlement an IIC/SPI/RS232-to-USB cnverter. Having a CAN-to-USB will require an CAN-tranceiver i.e. connected to SPI, but this will also result in an 'SPI-to-USB' protocol converter.
If we are all lucky guys TI will publish some AP-Notes related to this topics!

Hi,
Thanks for your ideas. I think so too.
And I thought that a low-pin-count MSP430 w/ USB favors cost-down converters, the competitive programmable ones.
And I would also like to see TI not only has these AP-Notes, but also demo boards.
Turnkey solutions expedite market absorption and let users make more versatile high-end applications.
Hi Ken,
have a look at this post: http://e2e.ti.com/forums/t/9073.aspx --> it has some 'very hot' infos on TI's dev-board plans for the F552x Sub-Series.
