MSP-EXP430FG4618 Kit UART Transmit Issues

Hi,

I am working on the MSP-EXP430FG4618 kit and I developed code for UART communication with the hyperterminal of my PC. The communication was going smooth but it has suddenly stopped and I dont know the reason for the same. The receive is happening properly but the transmit has stopped. I suspect IC PS8802 which is a optocoupler as the problem. If anybody has faced the problem or has any idea please do help me out.

Regards,

Swarup.

Do you have an opportunity to probe UCA0TXD on an oscilloscope?  You can probe it on resistor R9.  Perhaps you might configure that pin as a GPIO and set it low.  This would let you see a static signal on a DMM.

If you strap UCA0TXD to UCA0RXD, are you able to see a loopback?
