I am using MSP430F5418 but i have a problem with programing via JTAG. The device has TEST pin altough JTAG pins are dedicated. I am not sure whether to use this pin or pull it down to ground. Please help me.

1. What JTAG hardware programmer are you using to program the MSP430F5418?
2. What Software are you using?
3. What error message are you getting?
4. Please see a sample schematic on pg 29 of the following board:

5. Actually the device does have JTAG pins that are multiplexed with Port J, so the TEST pin will have to be connected like it is connected in the schematic above.
I am planning to program through microprocessor, not using any tool. In documents related to BSL, I've read that TEST pin must be used instead of TCK for devices with packages up to 28-pin but I have dedicated TEST pin in 5418. Should I use this pin to program through micro?

Yes, you need to use the Test pin like what's shown on page 12 of the User's Guide. Even though the TEST pin is dedicated your other JTAG pins are "shared" aka multiplexed with other functionalities. I hope this helps clarify...
