Launchpad Beginner Guide

I am a programmer by trade (C#, Java) but have never worked with microcontrollers. All the "tutorials" I can find make about 101 assumptions about what I already know. Is there a set of tutorials out there for the MSP430 launchpad that starts with something SIMPLE (like just 1 little method with 1 or 2 lines of code instead of a whole program)? I'm sure this question has probably been posted 101 times, but I've been searching and can't find what I'm looking for. I'm sorry for asking again, but thank you for any help you can provide.

I would suggest starting at the MSP430 Launchpad wiki landing page.

Also, there is a Getting Started with the MSP430 Launchpad Workshop.

Thank you for your response. I've been to both of those places and got quickly discouraged, but I'll try again. Maybe I wasn't patient enough. I'll see if I can get the time to look at this tonight and give you some feedback.

The first few tutorials on this site cover some of the basics pretty well.
