Sorry not sure what BIST is. I have been looking for an answer.
What I have in mind is:
Upon start up, my device will check all external memory and external peripherals. If anything goes wrong, on a LCD, it display a message.
Thanks

BIST stands for Built In Self Test. Essentially a term for what you are requesting input on.

Yes, generally this is what can be done to verify the product is functioning as intended. In addition, any tests of internal memory, checksums on program code, etc. are some typical things to do.
Hi,
are you asking for approvals for compliance with the requirements of the IEC 60730-1/60335-1 safety standards? That means self-diagnostic modules for the CPU, non-volatile memory (Flash or ROM), RAM, and the system clock frequency?
Other companys (i.e. a japanese company which anounced a merge with another japanese manufacturer) have such libraries available for there MCUs; will TI provide fully certified IEC software libraries for the MSP430 too?
