MSP430F2274 FLASH memory question

Hi all:

I am a newbie to embedded system design. I have this task to sample UV index (a voltage level) and store them for future analysis purpose. Can I store the sampled data onto the embedded FLASH memory? If yes how do I do it? If no what my other options are?

The kit I am using is the EZ430 RF2500 development kit.

Hi, Yes it is possible. Another solution will be a memory card.

Hi All, Thanks for your expertise help. My concern is actually how we store the our data need onto local flash memory. Do you normally store it onto main partition or information portion?

Btw, anybody help to tell me how we can know which space of flash our source code will be downloaded? How can we know it? Is it possible to configure it?

The real difference between the main flash segments and the information flash segments are the size. When you need to update, which may include an erase cycle, the information segments are nice because they are actually smaller in size.

To determine where the code will be placed in memory, you can generate a map file to identify which segments and addresses are used.

To configure this, you can use named sections and modify the linker command file to allocate these named sections to specific memory segments.
