Two way communication examples (eZ430-RF2500)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIMPLICITI

Does anybody have an example of two way communication using SimpliciTI that will work on the eZ430-RF2500?

I've been trying to reverse engineer the temperature sensor demo for two way communication, and I've got packets running back and forth for an AP and ED; but I think all my end devices are using the same address so that when I activate more than one ED they seem to interfere.

  • Hi Evan,

The SimpliciTI release contains multiple examples for all supported platforms (incl. eZ430-RF2500).  The "AP as datahub" example is based on the same topology as the temperature sensor demo and every messages sent from the ED to the AP is acknowledged by the AP (two way communication).  You can download the complete SimpliciTI release at www.ti.com/simpliciTI

    Thanks,

  •  Thanks, I had downloaded the SimpliciTI installer and had installed it but I did not know what it contained.

  • Hello

I am trying to create a similar 2 way application using simpliciTI using MSP430 eZ430-RF2500 Development tool and the CD along with it. I have installed all the applicaitons that came along witht he CD. As i start to build my first application by adding the flashing LED example code into the USB powered board I constantly see the following error Popup when i debug my project.

    Error initializing emulator:
    No USB FET was found

I have used the right Device variant during configuration of my project. Is there anything that is missing in the FET process?? According to the documentation " If using a USB Flash Emulation Tool such as the MSP-FET430UIF or the eZ430 Development Tool, they should be already configured by default"

Why do I still not detect the USB  FET in my laptop??????????, I use a vista.

    Problem 2 -

On powering up the End Device I see that it is training with the Access point i.e Greean and Red light keeps toggling, but the pairing is never made (i.e these greean and red lights should turn off, but they keep blinking!!!)

Additionally when I turn the Sensor Visualization Monitor tool I do not see the end device detected at all, in fact the monitor remains inactive with access point only with no blue or green circels detected as per documentation.

Please let me know if I can get any support on these issues.

    Thanks
