Why start not get the Schmitt Trigger disabled in P1.0?

According to the schematic ...

... just that INCHx is 0 to disable the Schmitt Trigger in red. The INCHx starts with 0 then it would not be right to expect that in just starting the P1.0 could not function as input?

  • The term isn't 'INCHx' but 'INCHx=y'. So when INCHx is 0 for A0, 1 for A1, 2 for A2... And this term is only true durign the sampling period of an ongoing conversation.
You suld take a look at the schematics of teh ADC10 to see where INCHx comes from.
I agree that this term is a bit misleading as it doesn't describe a static signal but rather the result of an expression like 'if (SAMPLING==true and CHANNEL==y)'
