Hello,
I have decided to use an MSP430 microcontroller for a project I am doing. I am getting a bit confused as to what equipment I actually need and wanted to check with someone who is more familiar.
I think I have decided which chip to use, but I want it in a breakout board format so I don't have to make up a board etc. So do I just need a breakout board such as:

What would I need to program this and would I be able to feed back some information to a computer about what was going on?
Or do I need something more like one of these?

I hope I haven't missed anything obvious but I am starting to go around in circles.
I basically want a simple board which hasn't got loads of extra buttons and screens on it, that will be programmable through USB and be able to give me some feed back on whats going on for debugging while I learn. A bit like an Arduino but using a MSP430 as I need something low powered.
Thanks for any advice,
Alex
