Configuring clock in MSP430F

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2274, MSP430F5324, MSP430F5438A

Hi ,

I have only used MSP430F2274 before . I use TI api(from ZNP kit) to configure main clock.

I'm using MSP430F5324 now . Finding it really difficult to configure clock . Is there any sample codes . I dont the given library has the clock setup code . I referred to MSP430F5438A experimental board software . It is not campatible with MSP430F5324  . Looking for guidance

IMHO, the 5x family clock system is mroe ocmplex, but less difficult to handle. It's rather straight (which apparently was the intention, hence the name 'unified clock system').

For 5324 and 5438A, the clock system is 1:1 the same. The differences across different 5x devices are the position (and perhaps required port configuration) of the crystal connectors XT1 and XT2 and the frequency ranges (RSELx) of the DCO.
However, the rest of the 5438A demo software is of course not compatible to the 5324, especially regarding hardware modules the other one hasn't and port pin mappings even for modules both have.
