Grace 2.0 Beta installation issues

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE

Hi guys, I apologize ahead if I'm posting in the wrong location (The Wiki link for Grace beta wasn't really specific as to where to post questions). Either way, here's the issue I'm having. I followed the installation steps up to the end of step 6, where the instructions state that CCS 5.2.1 is supposed to detect the new Grace and MSP430Ware packages and allow me to select them. When I execute CCS 5 on my machine (WIN 7 x64), it opens as usual and all I see in the TIExplorer window are "Welcome" and "MSP430ware". I've checked and re-installed everything from scratch and still can't get Grace 2.0 Beta to install. Thanks ahead for your time and support.

  • Hello Pierre,

Thanks for your interest in the Grace Beta. Yes, you have found the right forum ;-)

I think the easiest way for you to solve this is to install the CCSv5.3 release candidate. It includes the Grace 2 release candidate as well. The problem you mention might be that the update mechanism has been disabled. This can be solved by re-enabling it in the CCS preferences. Downloading CCSv5.3 is still be better solution.

You can find the release candidate at www.ti.com/ccs

Click on the Download button for the CCS-FREE version. Then click on the BETA DOWNLOAD SITE link on the web page.

Please don't hesitate to give your feedback on the new version!

    Regards,
    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I'm currently downloading CCS 5.3 and will report my results as soon as installation is completed. FYI for anyone reading this, here is the direct link to CCS 5.3.

    Chow.

  • Update: I got it working and can start experimenting. However, the YouTube video link bellow points to a private video. Just an fyi. Thanks again.
